Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
A classic murder mystery, that is Agatha Christie at her finest. Hercule Poirot solving a mystery involving 12 potential murders is classic and intertwines all the characters in the best way possible.
I could list the cast of characters, but that gets turned around and exposed as lies for the majority of them. The subplot of each character on the train is two-fold and great story telling. I think that is what makes this tale so great, a series of what appears to be coincidences yet you know there cannot be that many coincidences. Figuring out all the connections is the real mystery.
I don’t know how I missed reading this book along the way, but I needed to read it before seeing the movie. Now, I am afraid to see movie, because I know the movie will not do it justice. I highly recommend reading the book, I can’t begin to explain all the characters in any manner that would do them justice.
