Emotional Intelligence 2.0 by Travis Bradberry & Jean Greaves
I read this book for a project at work and was pleasantly surprised at how the strategies and skills reviewed in the book could be applied to more than just work situations. Yes, touring the workplace for 15 minutes a week is probably more specific to work than a social situation. There are really good skills to help with self-improvement for emotional awareness and relationships (both personal and work).
This book is probably best if reviewed after the initial read, to help refresh strategies and continue improving. The only concern I have with this is that if there is no buy in from other people to help improve relationships and social situations at work it may feel futile. I think a person’s skills would still benefit from working on these skills, however I think the skills would better develop if there is buy in and a group understands what skills are being worked and what strategies are being used.
Over all good read, and a book that has potential for self-improvement if the reader puts in the effort after reading.
