Everyone This Christmas Has A Secret by Benjamin Stevenson

Fans of this series will not be disappointed by this short holiday special. The countdown using an advent calendar was rather cleaver, but the “items” behind each door might be a red herring if you focus on just those. Ernest is really the only character from the previous two books that is in this story, Erin and Juliette make cameos but this is not their story. Erin is accused of murder, Juliette is home planning a wedding, and Ernest is off to try and help Erin figure out if she really did kill her boyfriend. The setting is a magic show, that was funded by Erin’s boyfriend as a way to help people recover from addiction. The magician is killed, and Ernest keeps learning secrets from each of the graduates of the program and the charities CFO. While a few secrets will catch the readers off guard, none are out of the realm of possibility and follow the rules of a good mystery. One hint I will give the reader is the true meaning of Christmas that Ernest learns is unique to this book.
