Sleeping with the Frenemy by Natalie Cana
This is the third book, in what is being considered a trilogy, but readers of this trilogy will hope that the author expands to the cousins and other members of the Vega family. Poppi finally gets his chance to scheme for his grandson, and mini version of himself, Leo. A year later Leo is still recovering from being shot when he saved his niece Rosey, when Sofia walks back into his sister’s life and his life. Poppi realizing what his great-granddaughter told him after Sofia left and Leo was shot, uses his scheming to have Sofia become Leo’s new roommate. With a little help from Sofia’s grandmother Sofia and Leo are forced to deal with their on and off again issues and the reasons why they never have serious relationships. The best part of the story is when the puppy that Leo and Sofia adopt needs a name, and Leo thinks “Dumpy” because he was found in a dumpster behind the restaurant was a good name, and Rosey ends up sharing food with the dog, despite Saint’s objections and nerves, and that is how he gets his real name. Some might think Sofia’s time at the microphone during the wedding is the funniest but for dog lovers it is how the dog gets his name.
