Amelia Collins is happy in her life and loves her job as an accountant, well except for that one client who can’t figure out how to give her the information she asks for to help them with their non-profit. Reginald Cleaves is a vampire who has been trying to keep a low profile, while standing out in his flamboyant fashion set, because The Collective is trying to kill him due to an accident over 100 years ago. The two literally run into each other outside of Amelia’s office and of course because this is a rom-com they can’t stop thinking about each other, find each other again and agree to fake date each other so Amelia can have a date for her cousin’s wedding. Of course they fall in love, have some miscommunication about Reginald being a vampire, and then Amelia scares the crap out of The Collective and get them to realize Reginald is not the killer they imagine him to be. Fans of My Roommate is a Vampire will be happy to read this story and excited that there will be a third book coming out soon (Road Trip with a Vampire)

 

Character List/Book Summary:

Amelia Collins – 34 years old, an accountant who is single and her family is constantly trying to set her up to make her life complete. Asks Reggie to be her fake date to her cousin’s wedding. Thinks Reggie being a wanted vampire is a joke. Gets scared when she realizes he is a real vampire, but comes around and helps him scare The Collective away. 

Reginald Cleaves – made a mistake at a party over 100 years ago that resulted in The Collective thinking he is responsible for killing The Founding Eight. Loves the idea of playing a prank on Amelia’s family by fake dating her. When he kisses Amelia at her family’s cabin, he realizes that she did not know he was a vampire. 

Sophie – Amelia’s best friend who helps take care of Gracie, Amelia’s cat, when Amelia works late. Has twins and a husband who is an attorney. 

Frederick – Reginald’s best friend, who disapproves of Reginald fake dating Amelia. Tells Amelia that The Collective is rumored to be tied to blood bank robberies after big concerts. 

Cassie – Frederick’s girlfriend, her best friend is Sam, and Amelia knew her growing up. Helps make copies of information that Amelia asked Frederick for. 

Sam – Amelia’s brother and is aware of vampires, has been overprotective of Amelia and her working late. Married to Scott.

Adam – Amelia’s brother is married to Jess, has twin daughters and a son. 

Gretchen – Amelia’s cousin who is getting married. Invites Reggie to the couples weekend in Wisconsin.

John Richardson – head of the Wyatt Foundation, wants to meet with Amelia at night. Does not realize who Amelia is when he meets with her and asks that his non-profit’s name be changed to The Collective. 

Zelda – vampire who gave herself the nickname Grizelda the Terrible, most vampires are scared of her.
