Accidentally Amy by Lynn Painter
For all the lovers of Pumpkin Spice and the Autumn season, this rom-com is like picking apples for your happily ever after desire. The characters are funny and the meet cute is adorably Fall, with spilling Pumpkin Spice Latte on your new boss’s boss so you are not late to your first day at a new job. Isabella Shay just kind of has the worst luck, but takes it in stride and sees the positive side of things. Blake Phillips realizes the second he is introduced to the new HR employee that their flirting over spilled coffee and in the elevator when they accidentally run into each other again means the “Amy” he thought he met was really Izzy and nothing will happen. Except that Izzy texts him to apologize and he realizes he likes her, so while Izzy cannot talk to VP Blake, Amy can. After Blake picks Izzy up when her car breaks down, plays a very strange game with her cousins and friends (who knew that side friendship would provide such a comical ending to the book), and has her babysit his cats it looks like it might be golden for these two. However, as in almost all rom-coms there has to be a hiccup and this one ends up with Amy getting fired and Blake not only knowing about it but is partially responsible for it. Enjoyable story and one to make fans of happily ever after, rom-coms, Fall, and just something to distract you for the real work fall in love with Pumpkin Spice Lattes.
