The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
This book is not just a murder mystery, fantasy, or romance it combines all three and creates a story that captures the reader. At first it was a bit confusing and it might be easier as an audiobook, but this is a great story and the twists (yes there is more than 1) are great and may not be what a reader sees coming. The narrator, Aiden Bishop, keeps reliving the same day over and over as one of the guests at the Hardcastle party until he figures out who killed Evelyn Hardcastle. Aiden in his many hosts has befriended Anna who is helping him solve the mystery of what is going on. The plague doctor tells the greatest truth with everyone at this party is being deceptive. Aiden is trying to figure out who kills Evelyn, and how both Aiden and Anna can leave because the plague doctor has explained the rule is that only the person who brings him the answer can leave. There is no character list, as that would give away too much plus Aiden is many of the characters throughout the story. This was such a great read that, more works by this author are not on my list of books to consider reading.
