Happy Place

Happy Place by Emily Henry

This book is not like the other Emily Henry books that caused this book to be read. It is part rom-com and part friends growing apart (but not really) and most of the book felt depressing. The problem is that the main character, Harriet, and so many of the friends keep sharing memories of the past that seemed perfect and how they always repeat the same perfect activities. It is not the same vacation spot over and over again that is odd (people do that) it is the must do the same activities each year. Thankfully, Cleo voices this frustration at one point in the book. As must as I like this author, I did not love this book as much as others by this author, by a long shot. I would recommend it to fans of this author, but explain that it is not the usual rom-com this author writes.
