Just Keep Buying

Just Keep Buying by Nick Maggiulli

This may not be the book most people wanting financial advice about what stocks to buy or how to makes millions in the stock market, or real estate investing, will buy but this book is well worth the read. The goal of the book is not to get you to buy specific stocks or ETFs, instead it is to help the reader figure out where they are in their individual investment journey and how they can create a plan based on what works for them. The author recognizes that everyone has different risk tolerances, different amounts to save or invest, and different goals based on where they are in their life. The book offers solid advice that is able to be tailored to the reader’s preferences on how much they want to save in cash and invest (stocks, royalties, real estate, etc.). A good basic knowledge will help an individual manage their finances better, and be better at saving and investing for the future.

I suggest reading the last chapter (Conclusion: The Just keep buying Rules) first as it is a very high level summary of each “rule” then read the book, come back and make notes in this chapter on the rule you want to remember or indicate how to use it depending on the stage you are in. Similar to Dollar Cost Averaging, just keep buying encourages individuals to invest what they can when they can. How to invest and the reasons to keep investing is the basic knowledge this book delivers. It was also appreciated that the author does not try and sell specific stocks or have you pay to join a group to get stock tips. The author is also honest about how this book is helping him invest more and diversify.

It should be noted this book does not address none income producing investments (e.g., cryptocurrency, gold) and it is explained why, because the book is about investing to give the reader income. Cryptocurrency and gold do not provide income until they are sold, therefore these items such as these are not addressed, and this would not be the book to read if you are looking for advice on how to invest with these alternative methods.
