A Witch in Time by Constance Sayers
There was a certain level of a twist ending that was anticipated after reading The Ladies of the Secret Circus by this author, I do not think this book had a great ending. Sadly, this book is not one I can say will be recommended. There was instances of rape, physical abuse, and trauma that are glossed over and make this book a horrible read with an ending that I felt was not worth the pain of reading the book. The story in the review is a great concept, but there was no real love story that was developed between the administrator, who is supposed to be the love of her life. The main character never really understands her powers, the administrator’s backstory is never really explained, and in general the book left me unsatisfied and slightly bothered by the multiple instances of trauma to the main character that were glossed over and not addressed other than the administrator will protect her. In general I like the writing and style the author has, and the concept of this story is amazing, it just did not deliver the type of twist that was in her other story and fizzled instead of flared.
I am providing a link to a book by the author that I think is a much better read.
