The Book of Cold Cases by Simone St. James
Shea Collins works a normal day job and at night her passion for cold cases is displayed through a blog called “The Book of Cold Cases.” When fate intervenes Shea meets Beth Greer, the local woman once accused of being a serial killer. After their meeting Shea is granted interviews with Beth and others involved in the case of two men shot in the face in their cars. Beth was found not guilty, and the twist of who the killer really was and why the killing occurred was interesting. Beth gives Shea confidence to face her past and move forward in her present, while taunting Shea with bits of information that Shea must track down of figure out on her own. Shea with the help of private investigator, Michael, track down what happened to Beth’s mother and connect the dots on what happened to Shea’s father. While the book jacket hints at ghosts or those from beyond the grave the book does not disappoint as a murder mystery and this book would be perfect for an October read.
