The Fortunes of Jaded Women by Carolyn Huynh

This ended up being an Audible listen and that might be a good thing. At one point in the middle of the book it seemed like the author did not know where she wanted to take all the characters, however it is worth the payoff if the reader keeps listening or reading. Each woman in this family is struggling with something in their life and wants family support (sister, mother, cousins, aunt) however the stubbornness that runs in the family is what is stopping them from reaching out for that family support. The death of the mother (and grandmother) brings one generation together, but not for long. A wedding brings all the women together, and a few of the men in their lives and chaos follows. After the dust settles the women are closer. It is such a difficult book to describe but such a fun book to read. Be prepared to such for purple jade at some point while you are reading this. Fun summer read and an ending that will make you laugh.

Liam staying through the drama and Andy’s surprise comeback and fight for his relationship both make you think better of these two men than when they were originally introduced.
